In partnership with The Grocer we hosted a webinar on Wednesday 22 October looking at M&A as a strategy for growth in the Food and Drink sector.
Many companies in the sector are turning their attention to mergers and acquisitions to grow their business and to gain a competitive advantage.
For one Food and Drink company a business can be a non-core activity; for another it is a strategic opportunity. The Grocer’s Global 50 2014 report stated 64% of acquisitions in 2013 were to strengthen market positions and 30% were to enter or strengthen new territories.
Expansion opportunities in existing or new territories, bring a number of new considerations and challenges for businesses. In cooperation with The Grocer our partners who specialise and have vast experience of corporate transactions looked at the practical implications of undertaking international transactions, private equity, tax considerations and M&A integration – all key considerations when using M&A as a route to growth.
