Introducing the Consumer sector team at Eversheds Sutherland

10th March 2020

Here at Eversheds Sutherland we have a dedicated Consumer team that has a deep understanding of companies across the sector, whether that’s retailers, food and drink manufacturers, hotels, pubs and restaurants. And we’re delighted to represent and work with some of the most recognised and well-known brands around the world as their trusted legal partners.

Our international sector team is led by Paul Moorcroft, Head of Consumer. Since qualifying in 1993 Paul has advised and acted for a number of clients synonymous with the high-street and retail and leisure sector. Paul is supported by our sub-sector heads: James Batham, Head of Retail; Amanda Partland, Head of Food and Beverage; and Clare Whitaker, Head of Hospitality and Leisure.

We’re renowned for our experience and understanding of the myriad of issues clients are facing. Changing consumer demands and expectations are having a substantial impact on businesses to heavily invest in IT infrastructure to allow consumers to book or order online, reserve tables or seats, allowing personalisation of products, augmented reality, and protecting valuable personal data.

We take a business partnership approach, helping you to develop strategies for success, turn threats into opportunities, future-proof your business and stay ahead of the game.

Thought leadership

There’s also an increasing expectation for businesses to carry out their operations in an ethical and sustainable way, the choice is no longer one or the other, but that they should go hand in hand. Businesses are needing to act now to ensure from a reputational and financial perspective they don’t lose out, but with limited regulations around the world it’s a question we’re increasingly being asked from across the sector.

In response we’ve prepared a thought leadership on this very subject with specific focus on the food and beverage sector. Our report ‘Re-shaping your business: the impact of sustainability on the food and beverage sector’ is available for download.
